Why is a nice girl from Chicago — writing a blog like this??
Who am I and why am I doing this ??
I have told you all about myself & BHB and about the warm & fuzzy (fuzzy is because the margaritas on a few trips have been that good…my memory is a bit fuzzy) feelings we have for Daytona Beach.
The why….
Now, since we travel to location often and I rent condos to folks traveling to Daytona. I am frequently asked about our favorite spots to go and thought this blog would be a good place to gather the information and organize the information. My guests continue to ask questions and I continue to try to find answers. Since I advertise (pretty extensively) I get folks traveling down who call just to ask me questions about the area….
These are some questions that I have been asked::
Do I know where an AA meeting is held?
Where can I work out?
Are there alligators near the beach?
What do I do if I see a turtle?
Can we take turtles home?
Where is a good Mexican restaurant?
Do I know where a nude beach is?
Where do you park for the Daytona 500?
How is the weather in December? Jan ? Feb ?
Patience – patience—we will get to all -in due time….
The list of Daytona Beach questions is long, and the traveler’s questions about Daytona Beach keep coming and the town of Daytona Beach itself keeps a-changing. I am a frequent contributor on Tripadvisor’s Daytona Beach Forum. I like Tripadvisor, it is a good traveler’s resource and probably the best for resort reviews. The forum is good because there are many knowledgeable contributors, but the information gets asked and then buried and is not easily found again. So my intent is to compile the best information about Daytona Beach and organize the info so it is easy to find. I am not the most organized person in the world, so this will be a challenge…please be patient with me…
I am also requesting help from others who contribute at Tripadvisor and to all travelers who want to add their thoughts and contribute. So, on my next trip to Daytona (27 days away, but who is counting…??) I will bravely set out my with trusty old Nikon and my shiny new Macro Lens and try to capture as much information as I possibly can for you….
So now you have the rest of the story….
